Another decoden jar~

This one is for myself!

I’m considering doing more to sell, but I’m just toying with the idea for now.

Its a decoden Christmas~

Decorated these jars and containers decoden-style!

The 3 large jars are Christmas gifts to my family; each jar will hold some home-mixed hot cocoa and marshmallows.
The 4 small containers were just for practice before I started on the jars.

Another dolly blog post~

So I got someone special to me into ball-jointed dolls, and they found their perfect male doll and ordered it.

He is a tan Loong Soul Ryan who came with a limited Vampire Emily event head.
Since the company currently doesn’t offer face-ups, we had the doll sent to me for a face-up, which I’ll do when the weather’s right.

ANYWAY, box opening!

The man himself:

All in all I have to say I am quite jealous LOL

This doll is strung perfectly, he poses GREAT and holds his poses well.

My RS Long, Ryame, was supposed to be tan like this but ResinSoul changed their formula apparently but never updated their resin color sample picture so I ended up with something alot lighter than what was expected, but I love him none the less.

I’m fairly sure if Ryame were real, he’d be extremely happy to have this handsome man with us considering the rest of my dolls are around a foot tall or shorter, while Ryame is over 2 feet tall.

Its like Gulliver’s Travels for him.

And maybe a shirt lol

More dolly fun!

So, Stella is supposed to be a little fairy, but every fairy has  wings.
So I made her some!

I found this pack of sparkly butterflies at Michael’s around Easter:

I honestly got them just because they were colorful and sparkly, but realized I could use them to make Stella her much deserved wings.

I removed the wings from 2 white butterflies, gluing the sides together so that they’d be glittery on both sides.
On one side, I glued magnets; on the other side, I glue flowers to hide the magnets.

The result:

A happy fairy!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Also, I’ve progressed on Stella’s house~

I finished the bookcase, legs and all.

I also made a chair!
And decorated her room with gifts she’s received.

I found this 3-piece unfinished wooden chair set at Hobby Lobby and grabbed it for Stella’s room:

I also made her a floor bed.
I’m currently working on the blanket and pillows, but they’ll use the same fabrics as the mattress and the chair.

Fullview shot~

I’ve yet to make things to fill up that bookcase with, also I’m unsure what to do for the part of the wall that opens.
I have a cute bathtub that fits Stella’s size, so I might actually make the opening wall a bathroom if I can find a sink for her.
I just need to find the right wallpaper, and figure out what to do about the bathroom floor.

Whoot whoot, new blog theme with a tiny ounce of customization~

Anyway, posting since I’ve progressed a bit on Stella’s house.
Click here for the previous post on this subject

So far, I’ve actually worked on the interior.

The wallpaper is scrapbook paper, the fancy trim is cotton lace, and the carpet is 2 layers of felt.
The lines in the felt where additional pieces were added (due to the felt sheets not being big enough for the entire floor) will be covered by furniture.

A close-up of the lace trim.
I just mixed Elmer’s school glue with some water to make it a bit more absorbant, placed the lace trim where I wanted, and soaked it entirely through to the paper with the liquidy glue and let it dry.
I had to do this in sections with the house laying on its side so that the wet glue wouldn’t drip or run down the wallpaper.

The bookcase is actually made from the jewelry box my wedding ring came in over 2 years ago.
I didn’t have the heart to toss it out, but had no use for it until recently.

I cut the lid in pieces to create the shelves, taping them in since glue would be impossible to use in this without a million years of patience.

Then I cut pink scrapbook paper to fit against the back in each shelf.
Honestly the pink paper wasn’t glued in.
It was such a tight fit that they fit snug when I was testing to see if they fit and I couldn’t get them out lol

Then I cut white scrapbook paper to fit each shelf, long enough to wrap around to the back or under the shelf entirely, they were glued in place where it would be visible, and taped in the back for extra security.

Doing this did leave some exposed maroon gaps that not even white paint could hide, so I wrapped pink ribbon around the edge of the two shelves and taped them in the back.
The 4 flowers glued onto the outer most corners are hiding the remaining exposed maroon gaps.

The result:

Seeing as how the flowers are being squished against the ground, I’m looking into finding the perfect beads or knickknacks that will work for the legs of the bookcase.

I’ll probably make a few fake books, framed photos, and other cute little stuff to fill the shelves with.

I’m kind of considering adding fake windowswhere its just the frame with a picture of “outside” or real windows where you can actually see in or out.
It really depends on how much space the bed and any other furniture will take up though.

This is a story I’ve been plotting and planning and brainstorming about for over 7 years.

I’m just now starting to make stuff to show for it.

3 pages sketched, GO!

I put these up for critique in Gaia’s Comic Creators section so these pages may change drastically once they brutally tear each page to shreds.

I love those guys.<3

My main intentions of this blog was a place to blab about dolls and spam art I don’t feel is dA/FA gallery-worthy.
I’ve done plenty of doll blabbing in a span of about 12 journals, but haven’t posted much art.

I’ve been into Gaia Online recently again what with their Easter event (huge bunny fan here) and I’ve been helping in the fight for the Easter Bunny to keep his holiday as the holiday-hogging grunny, Diedrich is now after EB’s holiday D:<
Easter is all EB has left since Jack and Santa destroyed his pretty face and stole his holiday gimmick of giving candy.

In light of the event, I started up an Easter Event Art thread in Gaia’s Easter Event 2011 forum for free Gaia avatar art to those who posted frequently and those whose avatars I quite liked.

It was a big success for being my first official Gaia art thread and Event art thread~

It all started with making myself an Easter Bunny support signature image:

Now for the art gifts:

After all the fun was done and over with, I’m proud to say that the 510 eggs I contributed in the name of the Easter Bunny brought him victory by nearly 300,000 eggs over the creepy grunny, Diedrich!

Nice try, Diedrich, for attempting to steal the Easter Bunny’s holiday…

BUT EB REIGNS SUPREME EGG HIDER.

I guess Diedrich’s fans were too busy spamming about how adorable he is rather than gathering him eggs.

Its been awhile since I’ve posted a journal, been preoccupied with being sick, working on commissions and dolly gift swaps~

But I’m back!

So I recently decided to turn my Pukifee Shiwoo, Noctis, into a fairy girl.

To stick with his night-time name and latin-themed names for my small BJDs, he has been renamed “Stella.

She now has long blonde hair (longer than she is tall!) and beautiful green eyes.
I just need to obtain more sealant spray so I can give her a more girly faceup.

BUT! With the new change, comes new inspiration.
I’ve decided to make her and Luna a small 1-roomed fairy home that will sit on top of my doll cabinet!

Here’s what I’ve done so far~

First chore was finding the base of the house!

I found a large paper mache container at Michael’s for $13 that, after borrowing a ruler from the grafting section, seemed to be a nice size for the girls.

I needed to cut an opening in the back to gain access inside, instead of just looking from above.

After locating the two seams on the sides, I chose to use the seam that would be on my left, opening the “back” up to the left as I’m right-handed and don’t want the “back door” to be in my way when fiddling and photographing.

Luckily, the lid of the container will help keep the “back door” closed when not in use, keeping my two goofy cats out.

In the photo below, you can see that I’ve somewhat re-enforced the seam with tape, and you can see a comparison of Stella’s size vs the amount of room in the “house”.

I’ve also sanded the edges where I cut open the “back door” to make it nice and smooth, since the cut was rather jagged.

Next, I cut a flat piece of cardboard out for the base to put the house ontop of in order to add a small “front yard”
The edges were covered with tape to smooth them out and close any holes or gaps created from the way the cardboard is made.

I’ve bought fake flowers and craft moss in order to decorate the outside of the house with.

Along with those, I’ve bought a few small wooden containers, two of which will be turned into chairs once my dremel is charged, and the other is the table.

To top it off, a circular flat piece of styrofoam will be added to the top, painted to look like a cobblestone patio, and some small wooden fences will decorate the “roof top patio” and the “front yard” once they’re painted white.

The general gist minus the moss:

A close up of the “roof top patio”

I haven’t decided what the outside walls of the house will look like or the inside floors.

I’m thinking of making the outside look like a ceramic flower pot(complete with the shine), while the inside looks like a cozy room for a girl.

For inside furniture, I’ll either make a floor bed that will fit both girls or a hammock bunk bed sort of deal.

Space is limited for the inside if both girls share the room, and as they are the two tinest ones, they more than likely will share it.

Along with that, I have a few unfinished miniature wooden cabinets that can be used to stash little fairy trinkets and treasures, and I’ve yet to hit up Hobby Lobby to get a paper mache treasure chest for them to stash more goodies.

But this is what has been done so far~ Not much progress but I’m sure you can see where I’m going with this!

I’m super excited to work on it, however my “schedule” only allows me to work on it during weekends , since weekdays are for working on art commissions.

10 journals so far!

Not much to update.

Been working on commissions since I have a time limit on my current monetary goal QuQ;

Ryame is being my mental slave-driver since I’m saving up for buddies of his size.
I’m sure he feels like Gulliver with all the tiny dolls I have.
(He’s 27inches tall, the rest range from 4.5inches tall to 13 inches tall)

I will have you someday, Homme Ducan and Goldie!!! TTuTT
